Extended Bio:

Santa Barbara based groove-rock-collective, Velvet Binx, ignites their audience with explosive blues, improvisational connectivity, hip-hop lyricism, and high voltage tunes.

Inspired heavily by rock legends (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against the Machine), female vocal forces (Etta James, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu), and raw emotive hip-hop influences (MF Doom, Isaiah Rashad, Lil Wayne) they are sure to remind you why live performance is so critical to the human experience.

Passing the threshold of being a band for one year, the group has achieved a solid inventory of live shows. Favorite shows to date include sharing the stage with Parlor Greens, Niina Soleil, Omar Velasco, and Antonio Barret.

This is just the beginning. Their goal is to push past comfort zones, express the full spectrum of emotion and experience, and bring joy to their community. ROCK ON!

“our sets are pretty improvised. Each song is more so a concept that I can continue to go back into. The emotion still lives within me, even if the wording is different. My goal is to express the emotion itself, so the audience can feel it with me. My intention is to transmute negative or heavy experiences into love and exhilaration. Crafting songs has allowed for many of my suppressed emotions to resurface. Although at first it was daunting, I realized just how much one can hold inside. Now with the help of my mad talented bandmates, I have given myself permission to acknowledge pain and I feel held”
